We don’t know the background of Luke the believer,
co-worker with Paul on his missions abroad.
As writer-in-residence, inspired by the Spirit,
Greek Gospel narrator, who also wrote Acts,
this Jesus reflector, and God-explicator,
“beloved physician”, respecter of women,
with Old Testament insights, this faith promulgator,
Theophilus’ teacher, was beloved by God.
I originally wrote this at Wydale, at a Readers’ retreat in 2009, and have since altered it to remove various obscure references. Luke wrote more of the New Testament than any other writer.
