We heard yesterday that Janet’s biopsy, sent to a reference lab in Birmingham for genetic testing, showed the presence of EGFR, which means the cancer is susceptible to “targeted therapy ” – a tyrosine kinase inhibitor, in our case a drug called afatinab. This is truly good news, because this treatment is twice as effective as standard chemotherapy, and has far fewer side effects.
So over the coming weeks we can look forward to improving health. Thanks be to God.
